Support Padbury Brook Solar Farm

Help us tackle the climate emergency locally.

If approved, Padbury Brook Solar Farm would help tackle the cost of living and climate crises by providing enough affordable, clean energy for over 16,680 UK homes and saving over 1.3 million tonnes of CO2 per year. That’s the equivalent of taking 280,000 cars off the road for a year.

Plans for Padbury Brook Solar Farm have now been submitted to Cherwell District Council, and your support could make all the difference as to whether the plans are approved.

Our plans will considerably benefit both the local environment and community by:

  • Generating enough affordable, green electricity to meet the needs of over 16,680 homes every year, helping to reduce our reliance on expensive energy imported from abroad.
  • Allowing farming to continue through sheep grazing and using no ‘good’ quality farmland.
  • Displacing over 1.3 million tonnes of CO2 every year compared to generation from fossil fuels, the equivalent of planting 21 million trees, helping to tackle the climate crisis.
  • Considerably improving opportunities for local wildlife and achieving a biodiversity net gain of over 215% – 21x the standard.
  • Planting over 2.4km of hedgerow and trees, as well as creating 10 acres of wildflower meadow.
  • Protecting, widening to 10m, and enhancing the footpath north if the site, with a new north south permissive path on otherwise private land.
  • Installing bee hotels, bird/bat boxes, log piles, reptile hibernacula around the site.

Padbury Brook Solar Farm will help to address both the cost of living and the climate emergency, while providing benefits to the community. We need your support to make it a reality!
